Buchingham Branch Caboose

My father was a Southern Railroad trainman.  Years ago he was involved in a train wreck and the caboose that we was riding in was thrown of the tracks and he survived the injury.  Nowadays, trains no longer use cabooses for their trainmen, so as I crossed the tracks in Gordonsville, Virginia, on a February morning, this lone restored caboose was sitting on a side track, and I thought of my father.   In addition to it being a nostalgic memorial to my father, I liked the brilliant red in the landscape where its surrounding is otherwise bleak.
