Field of Poppies, Somerset

In landscape paintings, it is rare to find the land dominated by bright red.  One spring morning on my way to the town of Orange, I found a field of poppies in the village of Somerset and I just had to paint it.  The life of wild poppies is short and it was also a challenge in balancing the reds with the greens.
