611 is a restored locomotive.  During the 1980”s the train came threw Orange County Virginia several times.  My father was a Southern Railway trainman from the 1940’s and very likely he rode this engine on many occasions.  I followed its way threw the county many times taking photographs.  To experience its approach, seeing its smoke, its sound miles before one can actually see the engine, is a trilling moment as the earth vibrates when it passes.   To stand beside it, feeling the heat radiating from its boilers and seeing it slowly move off the gangway is something I will not forget.   I had the opportunity to remember this experience by an invitation to participate in an art show, Trains.
